Are there limitations to what Tango can capture?

Tango captures most web apps, but some sites and technologies aren't supported. See what's excluded.

Tango makes documenting your processes super simple, but there are instances where our extension has trouble documenting the website where you're working.

What Tango captures

With the Tango browser extension, Tango is capable of capturing actions across any website or web application open in your browser. This includes - but is not limited to - clicking on buttons, typing in text fields, completing multiple-choice surveys, and navigating between pages. Tango will then automatically translate your actions into step-by-step instructions.

The Tango extension works on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Other browsers are not supported, including Arc (see Why doesn't Tango work on Arc browser?).

Where Tango won't capture, or is less precise

  • Browser settings pages, such as Chrome Settings, and the Chrome Web Store

  • Iframes or interactive canvas apps

    • Document areas of Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets. Google presents these windows using canvas, which means we are unable to select the images inside of it.

    • Real-time collaboration apps like Figma and Webflow

  • Certain modals

Capturing on your desktop

If you're looking to capture on your Desktop or in another browser, the Tango extension is not the best solution - you'll want to try out our Desktop app (available on Pro and Enterprise plans) using the code TANGOPRO for one month free of Tango Pro. With Tango Desktop, actions can be captured anywhere on the screen, although the instructions and output will be less precise than when using the extension.

If you come across any other websites that Tango doesn't capture, feel free to write into support at [email protected] and we'll see if we're able to make improvements! Otherwise, try out Desktop, or upload a screenshot to that part of the Workflow to continue making your Tango.
