Tango MCP FAQs for Creators

Answers to common questions about helping Creators and Sidekicks troubleshoot results and identifying content gaps.

ℹ️ Tango MCP is available on Enterprise Workspaces. You need your own Tango account and must be a member of the Workspace. Workspace Guests can’t connect to Tango MCP.

Why isn’t my AI assistant using Tango?

Your assistant decides when to call Tango, and it usually does so for how-to questions about software. If it answers from general knowledge instead:

  • Check your connection. Ask "What Tango workspace am I connected to?" If your assistant can't name a workspace, you're not connected. Reconnect Tango in your assistant's connector settings and sign in again.

  • Mention Tango in your question, for example "Check Tango for how to request time off."

  • Name the task and the app, for example "How do I create an opportunity in Salesforce?"

  • Check your AI assistant connection status in Tango’s Connect an AI assistant Workspace setting.

If your assistant calls Tango but finds nothing, the Tango may be in a different Workspace or one you can't view. Each connection reads from one workspace.

What can my AI assistant access in Tango?

  • View only. Your assistant can search and read Tangos, including their steps and screenshots. It can't create, edit, share or delete anything in Tango, or change permissions.

  • Your permissions. Each person signs in with their own account, and your assistant only sees Tangos you can already open in Tango.

  • No drafts or trash. Your assistant can find any published Tango you can open, including personal and shared ones. Drafts and Tangos in the trash aren’t included.

  • One Workspace. Each connection reads from the Workspace you chose at sign-in. To switch, disconnect and connect again.

Disconnecting

In Tango, go to Settings > Connect an AI assistant, click the connection under Your connections, and click Revoke. You can also click Disconnect to revoke all established connections with that assistant. Alternatively, disconnect in your assistant's connector or agent settings. In Microsoft 365 Copilot, go to Settings > Agents > Tango.

Note: An assistant signed in on more than one device or browser shows up as separate connections. Changes to revoked connections may take up to 15 minutes to take effect.

What should I do if a Sidekick can't find a Tango?

Confirm that the Sidekick is connected to the expected Tango workspace and can view the Tango. If the process hasn't been documented, document it in Tango so the assistant can find the current source.

How can I help a Sidekick troubleshoot the connection?

Ask them to check their connection status in Tango's Connect an AI assistant setting and ask their assistant "What Tango workspace am I connected to?" They can also mention Tango directly and name both the task and the app in their question. If the problem continues, email [email protected].
