Voice Transcription turns what you say during a capture into step titles and descriptions. For setup, see How do I use Voice Transcription?
Where it works
Pro and Enterprise plans.
Browser capture with the Chrome or Edge extension. It isn't available in the Desktop app.
How-to Guides only, not Automations.
It's off by default. Turn it on with the Voice Transcription icon in the lower right of the capture panel when you start a capture.
Tips for good results
Narrate as you go. Talk through each step while you do it, rather than capturing first and explaining afterwards.
Say what the screenshot can't show. Why the step matters, which value to pick, what to watch out for. That context is what Voice Transcription adds.
Allow the microphone the right way. In Chrome, choose "Allow while visiting the site". Any other option won't turn voice on. In Edge, click "Allow".
Check it's listening. An indicator in the capture panel shows Voice Transcription is on. Hover over it and click "Show transcript" to see what Tango has heard so far.
Give it a moment. Workflows captured with Voice Transcription can take a few moments to load after you finish.
Edit afterwards. Every title and description is editable.
Supported languages
Voice Transcription can turn spoken narration into step titles and descriptions in the language you use. For example, if you narrate in Spanish, the generated text can appear in Spanish.
For the most consistent results, use one language throughout your capture. If you switch languages, review the generated text and edit any titles or descriptions that need adjustment.
Voice Transcription is separate from Workflow Translations. Workflow Translations (Enterprise) lets viewers switch a finished workflow into another language. See How do Workflow Translations work?.
Privacy
Voice Transcription is off by default.
Audio is not stored, and there's no audio playback.
Your voice is only used to generate step text.
