Can I export my Workflow as a video?

Yes, you can turn any Tango workflow into a watchable, video-style embed with optional AI narration, no extra work required.

Updated yesterday

Video Embeds are available on Pro and Enterprise plans. Free users can preview the video editor but cannot generate or embed videos.

What are Video Embeds?

Video Embeds let you turn any Tango workflow into a passive, watchable video, complete with smooth step-by-step transitions and optional AI narration. Viewers can watch just like they would a regular video, with familiar controls like play/pause, speed adjustment, and a clickable timeline. It's a great way to share workflows with people who prefer to learn by watching rather than clicking through steps.

When should I use Video Embeds?

  • You want to embed a walkthrough in a tool like Notion, Confluence, or a knowledge base where viewers can watch passively

  • Your audience prefers video-style content over interactive step-by-step guides

  • You want to provide a narrated walkthrough without recording your screen or writing a script

Who can use Video Embeds?

  • Creators on Pro or Enterprise plans can generate Video Embeds and copy the embed code to share anywhere

  • Enterprise admins can enable or disable AI narration across their workspace (the video feature itself remains available)

  • Free users can explore the video editor and customization options, but generating and embedding videos requires a Pro or Enterprise plan

  • Viewers can watch Video Embeds based on the share permissions set by the creator. Access works the same way as existing Tango embeds.

Creating a Video Embed

1. Open the Share modal

Navigate to the workflow you want to share as a video, and click Share & Export in the top right.

Open the Share modal

2. Select Embed

Once the Embed tab is selected, you'll see separate options for Interactive and Video embeds.

You can either Preview and customize your video embed or Copy Embed code straight from here. Be sure to select the right platform to generate the correct embed code.

4. Customize your video.

On the video customization page, you can configure:

  • Narration: Toggle AI narration on or off. When enabled, Tango automatically generates a voiceover from your step titles and descriptions.

  • Voice: Choose between two AI voice options.

  • Appearance: Adjust sizing and layout to fit your target embed location.

A real-time preview on the right side of the page shows you exactly what your video will look and sound like.

Customize your video.

5. When your done, click Generate Video.

Tango renders a video from your workflow. This typically takes a couple of minutes depending on the number of steps.

When your done, click Generate Video.

6. Copy and paste the embed code

Once the video is ready, select the platform and copy the embed code and paste it into any tool that supports iframes.

What does the viewer experience look like?

When someone views your Video Embed, they see a polished video player with:

  • A cover page with your workflow title before playback starts

  • Play/pause controls

  • Speed selector (1Γ—, 1.5Γ—, 2Γ—)

  • A clickable progress bar with step indicators, so viewers can skip to any step

  • An end screen with a replay option

  • Mute/unmute for narration (playback starts muted by default)

All content from your workflow (screenshots, titles, descriptions, callouts, and headings) appears automatically in the video. Callouts and headings display as interstitial slides between steps.

What happens when I update my workflow?

When you edit a workflow that has a Video Embed, Tango automatically regenerates the video to reflect your changes. Updates typically take a few minutes to process. You don't need to re-copy the embed code. The existing embed will serve the updated video once it's ready.

Privacy and control

  • Narration is optional. You choose whether to include AI-generated voiceover.

  • Enterprise governance. Enterprise admins can disable narration across their workspace. When narration is turned off, videos still render and play without audio.

  • Viewer access follows the same share permissions as your existing Tango embeds. No additional configuration needed.

  • Playback starts muted by default, so embedded videos won't unexpectedly play audio for viewers.
