What are Smart Values?
"Copy smart value" is an Agent Action that automatically extracts information from a page to use in your process. This enables you to capture and reuse data from webpages in your workflows.
Each extracted smart value becomes a variable, which can then be validated, reused, and optionally confirmed by a human during auto-play.
When should I use it?
Think about a situation where you're currently manually copying and pasting information from one page to another page — like from a call transcript or company profile. Instead of doing it yourself manually, you can let Tango do it!
How do I write a good prompt?
Tip 1: Identify the data point
State the information you need, specifying what details matter most, like specific words or themes.
E.g. Evaluate the overall quality of the sales call on a scale of 1–10. Consider clarity of buyer intent, strength of MEDICC components, engagement level, deal momentum, and next step alignment.
Tip 2: Describe preferred formatting
Tango can transform the information to your team's unique preferences. Ask for a list, short summary, or a custom transformation.
E.g. Provide a 1–2 sentence explanation for the score—be direct, specific, and insight-driven. Keep under 255 characters.
Tip 3: Include fallback values
Ensure values are useful by defining what should be returned if the info is not available.
E.g. If no closing date or range is mentioned, default to a placeholder date that is 120 days from today.
